Announcement!

March 13th is Digital Learning day and The Pocket Source is ready.  I have been working on a blog series for everyone who wants to learn to use your mobile device for scrapbooking and pocket scrapbooking.
I will go over the apps I use and give options for both iOS and Android.  I myself, use my phone for hybrid, but I will be going over how you can do you pages completely on your phone and send them off to be printed either in page form or in a book.  You can complete your albums during the hours you may spend every week just waiting.

There is quite a lot of information when it comes to mobile memory keeping and I have broken it down into 6 segments.  Here is the class schedule: (links will be added as classes are posted)

Friday March 13th - Organizing and Camera Apps

Tuesday March 17th - Editing Your Photos

Thursday March 19th - Text and Documenting

Tuesday March 24th - Adding Artwork and PNGs

Thursday 26th - Scrapbooking and the Project Life App

Tuesday March 31st - Printing

I hope you are as excited as I am to take part in this free learning series!

Using PNGs in the Letterglow App.

I thought I should do a bit of a tutorial for those of you wanting to use my PNGs on your mobiles.  You will need an app like Letterglow or Phonto, and Dropbox.  I will go over the steps using letter glow in this tutorial.

First thing, you will need to upload the pngs you would like to use to Dropbox.

Then, you can choose to take a photo, or pull one from your camera roll.

Next, you can crop however you like. then, tap use.

The app will automatically add a text box for you.  You can just tap the x to delete it.

To add the PNGs from Dropbox, you will want to tap the little dotted square and then the plus sign.

Next, you want to tap import.

You will have the option to pull from your camera roll, or Dropbox.  I find it so much easier to pull the PNGs directly from Dropbox rather than saving to my camera roll.

Here is how my PNG files look when the app pulls up Dropbox.

The app will default the color of the PNG to white (keep in mind if you are using a white background.  You may not see the PNG and will need to change the color)  You can change the color by tapping on the color wheel.

you can scroll right and left to see all the colors and tap the check mark when the color has been chosen.

You can change the opactiy of the PNG by tapping on the checkerboard and using the plus and minus symbols.

Once you have finished your edits, you will tap on the little downward triangle and tap done.

Then, you can save to your camera roll or upload to social media.

Let me know if you have any questions!

you can find the tutorial for using Phonto here

New Thank You Photo Overlay's & Adding a PNG to a Photo on Your Smartphone.

New in the shop today, a set of thank you overlays!  12 different designs in 3 colors.  black, white, and gold!  Add to any photo to make a beautiful thank you card.  These work great for weddings, graduations, and babies.  Even children's birthdays!
The set is 20% off through Sunday!
You can even use these on your smart phone!

1. Upload files to Dropbox from your computer.

2. Download Phonto. (I will use Phonto for this tutorial since it's available for both iPhone and Android)

3. Go to Dropbox and download the PNG you want to add to your photo. (my phone puts a photo behind my white PNGs in the camera roll, but the PNG is the only thing that will be added to your photo.)

4. Open Phonto and tap the camera to choose the photo you want to use.  It will let you take a photo or choose from albums.  Adjust filter if you want.

5. Tap the 3 lines on the bottom left and chose add image, it will take you to your albums.  Chose the PNG you want to use

Here is what the white image looks like when you select it .  I can just barely spot it, but you just hit done and it will be added to you photo.

6.  Adjust size and location and save!  Or, add another PNG.  (I have searched, but have not found a way to change the transparency in Phonto.  If anyone has done, please let me know!)

Voila!  You can now print this as a thank you card!

Your Favorite Fonts: On Your Phone!

Paislee Press and a few other designers at The Lilypad introduced new ornamental fonts last night that you can load into the Over app or Phonto.  Karla Dudley has one this morning too!  So I spent the morning loading my favorites into Over so I can use them in my Instagram posts, not to mention, it's a way for me to get more scrapping done on my iPod.
I am a huge user of digital brushes and these give exactly the same look!
I am going to try to do a little tutorial on how to load your favorite fonts into the Over app.

Now, the Paislee Press font I purchased, I was able to download directly to my phone.  When I clicked the download button, a prompt to open in Over or Phonto appeared.

To load other apps fonts, you will first have to upload to a Dropbox account or similar.  Make sure you are jus uploading the font and not the zip file it may have come in.
When you open you Dropbox app and click on the font you want, you click the little download button and you will see something like this...

And you are done!  It opens Over and your font is loaded.

Now, I can add my favorite designer  right to my camera phone pictures and upload them to be printed without having to use my computer and Photoshop!
