Do you have a summer tradition? There is much to be said about something you
can look forward to each year, especially if it involves family and
friends. Evert summer my husband and I
eagerly anticipate an Independence Day celebration our church hosts right
before July 4th. Our church
owns several acres of land they’ve dedicated as Harrell Park overlooking
Cherokee Lake. The Independence Day
celebration includes our entire church family gathering
together at the park for picnic dinners, good music, and a huge firework show
over the water.
When I came across the Stars and Stripes journal card set, I
instantly knew they would be perfect for my July Fourth celebration layout. I created this layout in a matter of minutes,
keeping the embellishments and journaling simple so the focus of the layout
would be the photos. I topped off a
couple of the cards using wood veneer and acrylics from Color Cast Designs in
addition to a cork sticker from my shop.
I absolutely LOVE how this spread turned out. I also love that we’ve keep this tradition
for many years and I’m already looking forward to next year!

Amie, those cards are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLove this layout, Mandy! Those cards really are the prefect compliment to your photos. Love the way your embellies pop off the page.
